John is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of d-wise. Both a developer of people and software, under John’s direction, d-wise has experienced double-digit growth, earned multiple fast-growth awards, and established new branches in Switzerland and Germany.
John has been instrumental in shaping d-wise’s success as a forward-thinking consulting organization and extending that success to d-wise’s emerging role as an industry-leading technology solution provider.
Chris Olinger, Chief Technology Officer, and CISO has more than 30 years of experience in technology and delivering software solutions. Chris spent the first half of his career at SAS, where he led the development of the SAS Output Delivery System (ODS). As an R&D product manager, Chris led a team of developers charged with creating ODS, now a core component of SAS software used in nearly all SAS solutions. Chris has authored many technical papers and was a keynote speaker at the annual Pharmaceutical SAS User’s Group conference. The latter half of Chris’ career was spent building d-wise, a Life Sciences technology company where he functions as the CTO and CISO. As CTO of d-wise, Chris’ vision is to create a team with a balance of software and services capabilities whose core focus is delivering innovative and high-quality solutions for customers.
Bud Whitmeyer, Chairman/CFO, has over 30 years experience working in software development environments, including over 20 years experience in software company management as both an employee and board member. He has an in-depth understanding of software company operations and growth characteristics. He was most recently President & CEO of NuTech Solutions, Inc., a Charlotte, NC based software company that developed custom solutions centered around predictive analytics, simulation, and optimization. Bud's experience in technology includes 11 years at SAS and holding leadership roles at several early stage software companies. Bud also has 6 years experience as a full-time General Partner with Research Triangle Ventures, a seed/early stage venture capital fund based in Raleigh, NC.
Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry. Chris spent seven years with a large pharmaceutical company as a senior statistician and data integration consultant participating in a number of FDA submissions and leading multiple data warehousing and analytics projects. He then spent eight years at SAS as a Life Sciences consultant implementing and delivering SAS solutions for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
At d-wise, Chris leads the Life Sciences Practice team helping customers improve what they do every day through process improvement, enabling technology, and leveraging data standards. Chris is an active participant within PhUSE serving in multiple roles as the PhUSE/FDA Liaison and co-chair of the Computational Science Collaboration Steering Committee. Chris brings a diverse background of domain knowledge, technology expertise, and experience in implementing solutions for life sciences companies and has led him to aspire to enables companies for a healthier world.
Sam has over 25 years of successfully delivering global life science project and operations consulting. She is accountable for the implementation of d-wise global strategy across Europe and the contribution of European insights to that strategy. Experienced in Facilitation, Process Improvement and Project Management, Sam has a life sciences degree, MBA and is a Chartered Manager. Prior to joining d-wise Sam held leadership positions with Covance, Merck Serono and GlaxoSmithKline. At Covance she led 300+ staff delivering on-time, on target laboratory data to investigators and sponsors. At Merck Serono, as Director of Global Processes, Standards, Research & Systems, Biostatistics she led a global team of change agents and service providers to deliver greater efficiency and productivity within clinical development. At GSK, she led statistical computing projects for Research as well as development, seeing the complete research and development lifecycle from molecule discovery through to registration. Sam contributes to the PhUSE organization and is passionate about using smarter technologies with effective processes in the drug development process.
Rob has over 20 years of experience in Technology leadership roles in both for profit and not-for-profit companies. He has worked across multiple industries including Healthcare, Finance, Wireless/Telephony and Life Sciences.
He brings a wealth of experience across all facets of Technology including Strategy, Architecture, Development, Delivery, Quality Assurance, Security and Operations.
Rob’s role at d-wise sees him responsible for the overall Hosting practice including the d-wise private cloud as well as solutions in the hybrid/public cloud. The Hosting team is responsible for architecture, design, delivery and operational support of our client’s clinical systems.

Mindi is known for her passion for cultivating leaders from within an organization. She partners extensively with front-line managers to create a "best place to work" culture and believes her unique contribution comes by way of bringing out the best in others. Mindi has 20 years of experience in human resources, leadership development and leading learning. She has worked in a broad range of industries and most frequently finds herself surrounded by advanced technology teams. Mindi earned her Senior Professional Human Resources certification in 2007. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Averett University and a master's degree in education from Capella University. She boasts of waiting until she was "older than most" to start a family. She has a son, Hunter, who will be 4 years old in December. In her spare time (yeah, right), she participates in Tough Mudder competitions, and places tremendous value on advancing the practice of health and wellness in the workplace and at home.
Tom Dieker, VP of Global Sales, has over 20 years of experience in enterprise technology and consulting, the last 12 years dedicated to the healthcare and life sciences market. He has extensive experience in creating, growing and leading sales organizations, whose mission is to solve complex business problems and enable growth for their clients. He has held executive sales leadership positions at several companies including the Health and Life Sciences groups at SAS and Oracle. Most recently he was VP of Business Development at PDR Network, a healthcare services company, prior to that he was VP of sales at Relsys International, the leading provider of drug safety systems, where multiple years of explosive growth resulted in an acquisition by Oracle. Tom’s rich sales leadership experience in healthcare and life sciences, paired with d-wise deep industry domain expertise will continue to fuel the company’s growth trajectory.
Jeff has 30 years of experience in technical and leadership roles within technology focused organizations. He is responsible for operations at d-wise including program management, client services, project resourcing and support.
Prior to joining d-wise Jeff held leadership roles in product management, operations and engineering with a number of technology ventures. He has also has held positions with several large multinational companies including MCI/Worldcom, Nortel Networks and ABB.
Jeff has a MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and a B.S. in Computer Science/Economics from Duke University.
