Chris Olinger, President, has more than 20 years of experience delivering software solutions. Most notably, Chris spent 14 years at SAS where he led the development of the SAS Output Delivery System (ODS). As R&D product manager, Chris led a team of developers charged with creating this reporting system, now a core component of SAS software and used in nearly all of SAS solutions. Chris attended conferences and speaking engagements, many of them with a life sciences focus, to promote the new SAS ODS. Chris has authored many technical papers and was a keynote speaker at the annual Pharmaceutical SAS User’s Group conference. Chris has built on the valuable experience gained by transitioning from software developer to business development to make a third step forward to the role of corporate leader. As president of d-Wise, Chris’ vision is to create a team with a balance of software and services capabilities that can solve problems with innovative solutions while maintaining a customer focus.
John Leveille, Vice President - Operations, is a technical software architect with more than 15 years of Internet and distributed computing systems experience. Also a SAS alumnus, John led development of the SAS/IntrNet Web Application Server, a core infrastructure component for SAS web-based data warehousing, data mining and OLAP software. While at SAS, John was awarded two patents for inventions related to Internet technologies. He later took on a role of senior developer for the SAS Drug Development solution. At d-Wise, John is active in a team leadership role on multiple projects, providing architecture and technical design. His experience includes system design across many industries. Some noteworthy projects include SOA, Internet-based data delivery systems for pharmaceutical companies, clinical data warehouse and CDISC data integration for life sciences, and web-based business intelligence reporting of electronic medical records for healthcare providers.
Bud Whitmeyer, Vice President Strategy and Corporate Development, has over thirty years experience working in software development environments, including over twenty years experience in software company management either as an employee or board member. He has an in-depth understanding of software company operations and growth characteristics. He was most recently President & CEO of NuTech Solutions, Inc., a Charlotte, NC based software company that developed custom solutions centered around predictive analytics, simulation and optimization. Bud's experience in technology includes eleven years at SAS and holding leadership roles at several early stage software companies. Bud also has six years experience as a full-time General Partner with Research Triangle Ventures, a seed/early stage venture capital fund based in Raleigh, NC.
Chris Decker, Vice President - Life Sciences Practice, has more than 15 years experience in the life sciences industry. Chris spent seven years with a large pharmaceutical company as a senior statistician and data integration consultant. He participated in a number of FDA submissions and led multiple successful data integration projects. For the last eight years he worked at SAS as a life sciences consultant implementing and delivering SAS solutions for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Chris is an active participant in the CDISC organization as a co-leader of the industry-wide CDISC Integrated Safety Pilot, member of the CDISC ADaM team, and member of the CDISC Technical Leadership Committee. Chris brings a diverse background of domain knowledge, technology expertise and experience in implementing solutions for life sciences companies.
Stephen Baker, Manger of Strategy and Business Development, has nine years experience in applications architecture and management consulting. He spent four years with SAS developing enterprise applications and was actively engaged in the technical thought leadership within the department. He has led multiple enterprise architecture projects interfacing SAS solutions to custom Java applications and building extensions to the core SAS products. His architectural expertise has most recently been applied to clinical data management challenges where metadata and standards can be leverage to see efficiencies in process. Stephen has provided management consulting to several multimillion dollar corporations delivering innovation strategies and operational planning and worked to arrange a pedigree panel of high performance computing experts representing national labs, industrial constituents, policy experts, and solutions providers for a conference addressing how organizations can scale the adoption curve to realize competitive advantages through applied computing. He has most recently been working to define technology strategies and implementation roadmaps for pharmaceutical and health insurance clients looking to apply standards and metadata to enterprise data management challenges.
Jimmy Hunnings, Senior Consultant, has more than a decade of software development and business intelligence experience. James is also a graduate of the U.N.C. School of Law and brings the rigorous detail-oriented characteristic of that esteemed program to the d-Wise leadership. James was intimately involved in the creation of the sales enterprise data warehouse at SAS which consolidates sales information from the global SAS offices for senior management.
